Guilded is a messaging platform, similar to Discord, for gaming communities to communicate through features like messaging, voice & video calls, media and files, calendars, forums, and more.
Adding a new documents feature was simple plain text and we wanted to improve on our features to allow for formatting, media, commenting, and more.
Selecting and formatting text in a document. When content is selected, the toolbar changes to formatting tools and other actions such as commenting (see below).
Using drag and drop to add content like images, or a quick add menu to add content in specific areas.
Adding comments to specific areas of the text. When text is selected in a document, one of the toolbar options is to add a comment.
Viewing comments and comment threads in a document
Allowing admin-level users to select and perform bulk actions on messages at a time (useful for moderation).
Improving the creation of new channels by adding context and interactive illustrations for a better visual experience when creating a new channel.
Allowing users to open channels in new windows on their desktop so they can have a focused experience or view multiple channels at once.
